Early Warning

Overview

The Early Warning report is much like the Activity Report but will show you results by component type and not by a specific component. This functionality can help you forecast inventory levels to keep production running and on time. To begin this process start by selecting a component type from the dropdown in the top left. Then set your start and end date ranges. Click the “Get Report” button in the top right of the window to produce reports.

How Is This Data Calculated?

The forecast starts with on-hand and quarantined inventory, subtracts production requirements using BPR ETA dates, and adds expected purchase-order receipts using PO ETA dates. Run Out Date indicates when projected inventory is exhausted. Review the quarantined quantity separately because it may not yet be released for production.

Grid Actions

Select an item and choose Activity Report to inspect its inventory activity. Use Column Visibility to choose columns and Excel to export the results.

Quarantined and Committed Quantities

Quarantined shows inventory in quarantine or related review/lock statuses. Committed is the quantity allocated to production and replaces the earlier On Hold column label.

The forecast includes quarantined quantities along with on-hand inventory when calculating projected availability and run-out timing. Amount Needed also takes quantities on order and commitments into account. A forecast that includes quarantined stock does not mean that stock has been released for use; review its batch status before planning production.
